FAQ

Common questions, straight answers.

No marketing speak. Real answers from the operators who built it.

  • Is myCB really free?

Yes — completely free, forever. Every feature is open to every operator: SDR listening, skip tracker, logbook with CSV and ADIF export, blank logbook sheets, forum, chat, profile, equipment catalog, tips. No paid tier, no upsells, no locked features.

We're built and run by the TXDX CB Radio Club. If you want to support the project, jump in the forum, share tips, and help us grow the community — that's how myCB stays alive.

  • Do I need a CB radio to use myCB?

No. You can listen to live CB chatter from anywhere in the world via our SDR receivers without owning a radio. Many of our users started as listeners and bought their first rig later — there's no faster way to learn what CB sounds like in 2026.
  • Where does the live SDR audio come from?

From the global KiwiSDR network — over 1,000 receivers operated by amateur radio enthusiasts worldwide who choose to share their rig publicly. We don't host audio; we connect you to existing public receivers and add a beautiful CB-focused interface on top.
  • Will my logbook stay private?

Yes. Your logbook is yours and yours alone. Other users can't see your contacts. Your profile (handle, location, equipment) is what you choose to make public; you can keep everything private if you prefer.
  • Can I export my data?

Yes. Both CSV and ADIF exports (the standard ham/CB log interchange format) are built in and one click away. Take your contacts with you anytime — you're never locked in.
  • Who builds myCB?

Built with pride by the TXDX CB Radio Club of Central Texas. We're operators ourselves — we built the app we wanted to use. Open to feedback, fast to ship, no VC money, no ads, no tracking.
